Active Hands Limb Difference Gripping Aid Standard Left [Ah8St/l] is designed for users who have a limb difference affecting their hands or fingers. This may include those with dysmelia (conditions from birth), or those who have sustained a limb difference through amputation, injury or illness later in life. The Limb Difference gripping aid is perfect for those who have some or all of their fingers, or parts of their hand, missing. As long as you have at least some widening at your wrist our grip should work for you (A wider section of the wrist is required as an anchor point to transfer the pulling force to, when using the gripping aids).
The Limb difference aid can be used for a wide variety of activities such as accessing equipment in the gym, kitchen or garden, holding the handlebars of a bike or for rowing or kayaking. They are strong enough to be used for weight lifting.
If you have most of your fingers you may find that our General Purpose gripping aid would suit you better. As with all of our gripping aids, if you try one and it doesn’t work for you or is the wrong size we are happy to exchange it (provided the returned aid is still in a saleable condition). This guide may help you to decide.
The limb difference aids are available in left or right and you will need to purchase the correct aid or it will not comfortably fit your wrist/hand.
A = circumference of narrowest part of wrist
|Small:||120mm – 155mm||4.7″-6.1″|
|Standard:||135mm – 170mm||5.3″-6.7″|

(n.b. measurements are approximate)
Our wrist size guide will give you the best fit for your wrist but there is some overlap in the sizing. The hand straps do increase in length as the wrist size increases, so if you have a small hand part then you may wish to try a smaller size.
